Life with kids is loud, unpredictable, and (let’s be honest) usually a quite messy. Between appointments, snacks, keeping them entertained with educational activities, and the ā€œwhat’s for dinner?ā€ question that never dies… it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. A daily planner has given me more time. I can now focus on daily priorities instead of just running through the motions.

After our second child was born, days turned significantly more chaotic. Taking care of a newborn and a toddler was a challenge. I was also trying to take care of myself, my partner, and our unorganized house. One daily planner did not seem like much. During those days, it was a victory I didn’t know I needed. Having my day planned out made it feel less like I was just running through the motions. I could prioritize things in my life more easily by seeing them planned out on paper. One step closer to a more organized lifestyle.

That’s why my daily planner has become one of my most-used tools. It helps me keep track of life. It also gives me my sanity back.

My Weekly Planning Routine

Every Sunday afternoon, the kids nap or enjoy quiet time. That’s when I carve out a little window for myself. I grab my planner, a coffee, and my phone calendar, and start sketching out the week ahead.

I use this time to:

-Write down appointments or events I can’t forget (birthday parties, errands, pick-up times)

-Plan out my days realistically — with enough wiggle room for life to happen

-Jot down any goals, reminders, or to-dos I’d like to tackle

It’s not about filling every minute. It’s about creating a rhythm for our week.

Why It Works for Me

I have a chance to look at each day before it happens with a simple daily layout. It helps me:

-Stay one step ahead

-Keep my priorities straight

-Keep a bit of routine in our household — even when the toddler chaos hits šŸ˜…

I don’t aim for perfection, but I do aim for clarity. And that’s exactly what this planner gives me.
